Our Casas
Our hamlet is picturesque, with old stone walls where house martins nest. As you walk through the lush surroundings, you will find quirky details and upcycled art. It is a project of love and dedication. The traditional schist houses – casas de xisto – were restored by Walter using eco-friendly, natural building methods.
Built of local stone at the foot of the Serra do Espinhal and right beside the Ribeira de Alge, they stay pleasantly cool through the summer heat. The nearby river brings a refreshing evening breeze, making it easy to sleep deeply.
Each of the four self-catering apartments has its own entrance and a private outdoor area looking out over the river, with access to an unspoilt river beach.
Inside there is an open-plan living space with a log-burning stove, a well-equipped kitchen, one or two bedrooms and your own bathroom.

Goladinha is a vegetarian and vegan place. We ask that you don’t prepare meat or fish here.
Surrounded by nature
Goladinha is a place of quiet and closeness to nature. Shops, restaurants and cultural life are in Figueiró dos Vinhos, 12 km away, so we recommend having a car.

Group holidays
If you are travelling with friends or as a large family, you can book several of the self-contained apartments together for a shared holiday with complete privacy, and add the use of our well-equipped communal kitchen and its spacious outdoor terrace. That way you get both: a restful retreat and the pleasure of being together.
Retreats and seminars
Seminar leaders with small groups of 10–14 people can have Goladinha entirely to themselves. Alongside the welcoming accommodation there is a bright seminar room, a yoga platform with valley views, a shaded river terrace and exclusive access to the group river beach.
Guests are accommodated in 3 double rooms, 2 spacious triple rooms and 2 single rooms. From €85 per person per night, including half board. Self-catering is also possible on request.

Having built up and run the Knaubenhof seminar house for many years, we are experienced and unhurried hosts, working quietly in the background so that your holiday or retreat runs smoothly.
